Dr. Ghassan Al-Shawabkeh is a consultant in cardiology and interventional cardiology, specializing in complex cardiac intervention and cases of arterial calcification. He holds the European Board certification in cardiac interventio from Poland, as well as Arab and Saudi Board certifications in cardiology, and the Jordanian Board in internal medicine. Dr. Ghassan Shawabkeh has extensive experience in his field, with over 15 years of practice both in Jordan and abroad. He previously worked at the Cardiology Center at Poznan University in Poland, King Saud University, King Khalid University Hospital in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, and the Islamic Hospital in Jordan. During this time, Dr. Shawabkeh has performed over 5000 medical procedures and heart catheterizations. He treats various heart conditions including coronary artery disease, hypertension, high cholesterol, chest pain, palpitations, heart valve disorders, heart failure, and arrhythmias. Dr. Shawabkeh has over 15 years of experience in treating cardiac patients and interventional catheterization. He graduated in 2001 from the Medical School at Poznan University in Poland, then joined the Islamic Hospital in Amman where he gained extensive experience in managing internal diseases and obtained the Jordanian Board of Internal Medicine in 2008.
He joined the University Medical City in Riyadh, affiliated with King Saud University, where he started his journey in cardiology.
He began working at Riyadh Care Hospital in Riyadh as a cardiologist and later became the head of the cardiology department.
He obtained the European Fellowship in Cardiology and the European Board of Interventional Catheterization.
Dr. Shawabkeh strongly believes in minimally invasive angioplasty (stenting) via the wrist instead of the thigh, as this increases patient comfort and safety, reduces complications, and allows for a shorter hospital stay.
