Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) | TEE Heart Ultrasound in Jordan
Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) is a specialized ultrasound examination that provides detailed images of the heart and its structures from inside the esophagus.
Because the esophagus is located close to the heart, TEE can provide clearer and more detailed images than standard transthoracic echocardiography in certain patients and clinical situations.
TEE can be used to evaluate the heart valves, chambers, blood clots, congenital heart abnormalities and other structural heart conditions. It is also particularly useful when detailed assessment is required before or during certain cardiac procedures.
The examination is performed under appropriate monitoring and usually with local throat anesthesia and light sedation to improve patient comfort.
TEE may be recommended for the evaluation of suspected blood clots, valve disease, infections of the heart valves, congenital abnormalities, sources of embolic stroke and other complex cardiac conditions.
Dr. Ghassan Shawabkeh provides comprehensive cardiac assessment and interprets TEE findings in conjunction with the patient's clinical history and other cardiac investigations when needed.
