24-Hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) | Jordan

24-Hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) is a non-invasive test that records blood pressure automatically at regular intervals throughout the day and night.

It provides a more complete assessment of blood pressure than measurements taken during a single clinic visit and helps identify hypertension, white-coat hypertension and masked hypertension.

ABPM also evaluates blood pressure patterns during daily activities and sleep, including nighttime blood pressure and the normal day-to-night blood pressure change.

The patient wears a small portable blood pressure monitor connected to a cuff on the arm and can continue most normal daily activities during the monitoring period.

Dr. Ghassan Shawabkeh reviews the recorded readings and evaluates the results in relation to the patient's symptoms, medical history and cardiovascular risk factors to help guide appropriate management.
